Grandfather Mountain Hearth was commissioned to be a rendition of a natural place significant to the client, viewed from their mountain home (it's not the postcard view that resembles the profile of a grandfather's face)
It was a challenge to depict the landscape using stained glass (and pink for the mountain laurel blossoms was hard to find). An inspirational visit to the real place encouraged the work!
